While there are many wig accessories to choose from to apply your wig, if you're not thrilled about using wig glue or an adhesive like in this helpful tutorial, we suggest using our handy velvet wig grip band to secure your Lightweight wig in place better.
To use our velvet wig grip band, all you have to do is follow these six easy steps:
- Begin by placing the center of the wig grip on your head with the Velcro facing away from your scalp.
- Secure the Velcro in the back of your head so the wig grip fits firmly but not too tight. After all, comfort is the goal.
- Next, pull your wig over your head by lining it up with the front of your forehead, and then stretch it over the rest of your head.
- Then, adjust as needed. If the wig feels either a little loose or too tight, remove it and adjust the strap for a more comfortable fit.
- Run your fingertips around the hairline of your wig cap to ensure that none of your edge hairs are caught between your scalp and the cap.
- Make small adjustments, lining up the edges of the cap to give the most natural appearance.

Applying your wig with Hair
Prep Your Hair:
Goal: Get your hair as flat and smooth as possible.
Short hair: Braid it or slick it back with gel and bobby pins.
- Long hair: Make a low ponytail, wrap it into a flat bun, and secure it with bobby pins.
Wig Cap:
Why?: It helps keep your hair in place and creates a smooth surface.
How?: Gently stretch the wig cap over your head, tucking in all your hair.
Wig Prep:
Adjust: If your wig has adjustable straps, find a snug but comfy fit.
Trim the lace: (If it's a lace front) Carefully trim the excess lace along the hairline, leaving about 1/4 inch. Don't cut the hair!
Put it On:
Position: Hold the wig at the front and back, then gently pull it over your head.
